Water services (the pipe that connects the water main to your home) degrade over time. Fifty years is the serviceable lifespan for K grade copper buried in the ground. There is no accurate method to predict the longevity of your current water service pipe and there are many factors that contribute to its degradation. Your water service may last for years, or may fail, causing high water usage. If replaced, your water service will last at least another 50 years.
We're proud to use minimally-invasive trenchless technology in our water service replacement projects.
We employ specialized equipment to efficiently work underground without needing to dig traditional, full-access trenches. This means that our excavation footprint is substantially smaller, reducing the impact of our work on traffic, and your life. This environmentally-friendly method allows us to install buried piping without disturbing what lies above. In addition, this technology helps speed projects as we spend less time digging and restoring your home and landscape.
Your pipe replacement with Ben's Plumbing will likely take two days to complete. Ben and his crew will arrive around 8am on the first day and will work until late afternoon. You can expect about one-hour mid-day without water. On the morning of the second day, the job will be formally inspected, after which we will backfill and restore the dig site. Planter beds will be re-mulched and grassy areas will receive new sod.
We'd be happy to come out and provide you with a free estimate for your service replacement - just give us a call at 240-660-0935!
